Bobbi Bolton says: vote Responsibly Rural on March 11

For those of you who live in Greenvale Township, now is a good time to get involved in our local government and be informed. There are over 1,000 townships in the State of Minnesota, and they all have an election for leadership and admin positions on “Township Tuesday,” this year on March 11. This is then followed by an annual meeting. That meeting is conducted by the citizens. It is our chance to present resolutions and express opinions. The tax levy is decided at that time as well as many other items of business for the year.

As the Metro area extends south, it is important to know our leaders’ thoughts and goals for the future. The present leadership is not the one I want for us or our extended family. There is a new movement that came about this past summer when we were threatened with an industrial tree dump site on our road, Jamaica Ave. We received no support from our Supervisors. We have formed a group known as RESPONSIBLY RURAL and there is a website you can access. We have (3) wonderful, well-qualified candidates and we urge you to contact them for more information or discussion. They are Joy Royle (Supervisor), Mark Legvold (Clerk) and Craig Host (Treasurer). They can be reached through the website, Responsiblyrural.com.

Please vote on March 11 or apply for an absentee ballot now if you cannot. And, I urge you to attend the annual meeting at 8:30 p.m. on Guam Ave. It’s quite an eye-opener. - Bobbi Bolton
